Sun 17th April

Up early and got to the airport in plenty of time. So much so that we got put on the flight an hour earlier. We got a taxi from the airport to Pattaya which is 125 miles away and it cost £24. Not bad is it? Then we were at our hotel, but already the water-chuckers were in action. Good job we were inside a car.
We checked in and unpacked and grabbed a beer at the bar. Dave then appeared, soaked to the skin. He had been here three days and had got soaked on every one of them. The novelty was beginning to wear off for him, as it had for me the previous year. We agreed to meet up at 5 then go down to Walking Street to watch Man Utd. We couldn't get a taxi for the short trip and we didn't fancy the baht-buses which are open and make you an easy target. Luckily the hotel receptionist was finishing at 6 and she offered to take us down there in her car. What a star! So with problem solved we got into Kilkennys as dry as a bone, inside and out! Needless to say the beers were flowing, more so as the match swung Man Utds way. After the game we got a baht bus back to the bars at the top of the street where our hotel is. Nothing exciting happened except for elephants being paraded about but isn't that an everyday happening? A long day so it was time for rest and back to the hotel we went.
