Western Australia - Rotto's Quokkas

My first view on the Terra Firma of Rotto. See, not a Quokka in sight
Nor in this view either
Moving inland we find plenty of lakes, but still no Quokkas
Ah, the lighthouse. Having seen it we can now turn around and head back towards the centre
Not feeling very adventurous we were pleased to discover the local hostelry, funnily enough named the Quokka Arms. So we had found the arms of a Quokka, just the body, tail and legs to go!
No Dogs allowed but Peacocks and Peahens are, much to Dave's interest. Note the classy eating utensils. A disposable meal; paper box, plastic knives and forks and even plastic glasses.
What a view to greet you when you come out of the pub.
Will show you that again just to make you envious(beats the coal yard on the canal)
Just in case you wanted to visit the movies whilst on the island, there is a picture house. Unfortunately though the next showing isn't until April 10th!
The Signal Bell that used to rung to communicate with the mainland in cases of emergency. Not one of the 3 fastest means of communication which I have been told are, Telegraph, Telephone, and Tell-a-Woman! Only kidding girls...........
Hey Steve, you reckon I should bring this sign home for the steps to my patio (may I take this opportunity to say that Steve didn't build the steps in garden, in fact he has yet to build anything in my garden!)
The cemetery contained some old gravestones, but very few graves in total. Looks like the sharks have been well fed in these waters for years. Maybe when they got sick of Aborigines they went up Morecambe Bay for a Chinese!
Our intrepid explorer has finally found a Quokka. "Do they bite?" he asked me. "I dunno, hold your hand out and see"! Helpful as ever, aren't I?
Let sleeping Quokkas lie
Else they become agitated and hop off. See how they resemble a mini-kangaroo. No Quokka Soccer here.
A mangled mess of a tree and yet it lives. Survival of the fittest out here and this tree is giving it a good go
See how bent this tree is! It proudly boasts "I am the only gay tree in the village"! That's a Little Britain joke for those of you who don't watch it on TV
Perth skyline from the end of the jetty as I await my ferry back to Freo. See what a speck on the horizon it is.
Here I am showing off my 40x zoom again. It's the same shot as above but using the full zoom facility. Bet you are fascinated and amazed at home so that's all folks ! (For now)
